PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the insertion of foreign matter such as a card or the like into a change return passage from the outside, in a vending machine, which is communicated with a change return port, as preventive measures against mischievous technique for stealing changes. SOLUTION: For the change return port 6 opened to an outer door 2 of the vending machine, a coin chute is provided which has a flap type change extraction door 8b facing the change return port, on the back side of the outer door, and the change delivered on payment from a coin mechanism through the coin chute is guided to the return port, wherein, on the upper edge of the aperture of the change return port 6, an eaves section 6a is formed which arches, and overhangs toward the front side of the change extraction door 8b to prevent the insertion of foreign matter such as a card from the outside. Thereby, the anti-theft characteristic of the vending machine is improved by preventing a mischief by such a method in which inserting a foreign matter such as a card from the outside into a gap between the change return port and the change extraction door of the coin chute to block the coin passage, and steal the changes delivered from the coin mechanism after making the passage clogged with the changes halfway on the passage.
