PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a brake for a vehicle wherein the vehicle is braked by different approach from conventional braking of the vehicle by friction of a tire and a road surface. SOLUTION: This braking device l0 for the vehicle to apply braking force to the vehicle by gas pressure is constituted of a braking surface 11b to generate the braking force by contact with the road surface, a braking surface moving means 11 to make the braking surface 11b contact with the road surface by the gas pressure at the time of braking and a gas pressure generating means 13 to supply the gas pressure to the braking surface moving means 11.
