The patient stands on a horizontal sheet of glass (3) held on a frame (1) with horizontal and vertical profiled frame rods (2). There are square-section horizontal frame rods (7), holding strip lights, at the sides of the horizontal sheet of glass and two support rods (4) underneath. A mirror (9) is held in the frame at an angle of approximately forty-five degrees to the horizontal to give a good view of the contact area of the feet. A frame with a vertical sheet of glass may be used to examine the contact areas obtained when a patient is lying on his back.
