An energy supply provision for a motor vehicle comprises a battery (1) and a double layer capacitor (3) which are thermally coupled to one another. Preferably the battery and capacitor are adjacent to one another and there is a heat transmission medium between them. An independent claim is also included for an operating process in which heat is transferred from battery to capacitor and vice versa.
