COLOR FILTER, METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING THE SAME, AND LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color filter of which the resist pattern of each color is formed at a time, and of which the variation of color characteristics between a transmissive display region and a reflective display region is small, a method for manufacturing the same and a liquid crystal display device equipped with the color filter.

SOLUTION: A colored resist layer 13 is formed on a transparent insulating substrate 11. The colored resist layer 13 is exposed so as to form a hardened part on a position corresponding to the transmissive display region 40 and to form a hardened part and unhardened part on a position corresponding to the reflective display region 41. A color filter 14 of which the thickness d1 of the colored resist layer 13 on a position corresponding to the reflective display region 41 is thinner than the thickness d2 of the colored resist layer 13 on a position corresponding to the transmissive display region 40 is manufactured by removing the colored resist layer 13 on parts except for the hardened part. The semitransmissive liquid crystal display device 1 equipped with the color filter 14 has a wide range of color reproducibility and brings about bright display in both transmissive display and reflective display.
