<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a roller with a retainer which provides a large load capacity in a specified space, requiring the reduced number of part items, and having an excellent oil passage performance. <P>SOLUTION: This roller with a retainer comprises the retainer 1 and a plurality of rollers 2. The retainer 1 comprises a pair of annular portions axially apart from each other and opposed to each other and column parts 5 provided at a plurality of circumferential positions across the outer diameter edges of both annular portions 3. The rollers 2 are stored in pockets between the adjacent column parts 5 of the retainer 1. An coming-off prevention means 7 for preventing the coming-off of the rollers 2 to a retainer inner diameter side is installed between the adjacent rollers 2 in the inner diameter parts of one or of the pair of annular portions 3 or both thereof.
