<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a controller of a starter generator for an internal combustion engine which can conduct a voltage regulating operation for preventing an overvoltage from being applied to a battery and a load without sampling a battery voltage and without an A-D conversion. <P>SOLUTION: A map for imparting a relationship between timings in which load current flowing to the battery 3 and the load 7 through a feedback diode of an inverter circuit 4 from an armature coil of the starter generator 2, a rotating speed of an engine and an output voltage of the armature coil exceed set values, is stored, and timing in which the output voltage exceeds the set value, is estimated as regulating operation starting timing by retrieving this map for the load current and the rotating speed. When the estimated regulating operation starting timing is detected, the regulating operation for short-circuiting the armature coil is conducted to lower the voltage applied to the battery 3. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO</p> |
