PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tearing strip which enables a paper material to be torn without midway cutting from both directions. SOLUTION: In this tearing strip for the paper material, two cut-line rows 1, in which many cut lines 2 are intermittently provided, are located in parallel with each other. In the cut lines 2 of each row 1, an outward part 4 is continuously provided at one end of a basic part 3; an inward part 5 is provided slightly away from the base end of the outward part 4; and the cut lines 2 of the opposed rows 1 are directed in directions opposite to each other. Thus, even if an angle and a speed for pulling the tearing strip are not fixed, a tear is connected from the cut line 2 on this side to the next cut line 2 in each of the opposed rows 1, and the paper material can be torn without the midway cutting from both the directions.
