PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system and a method for controlling texture sampling in relation to computer graphics in a computer system. SOLUTION: In various embodiments, the system to control texture sampling comprises an improved mechanism of (1) a motion blur, (2) creation of anisotropic surface reflection, (3) creation of selfshading of the surface, (4) ray casting volume sampling, (5)volume rendering accompanied by selfshadowing, and (6) volume ray casting accompanied by selfshadowing. The 3D accelerator hardware greatly improves a level of a sense of reality in rendering. When conventional texture sampling techniques are supplemented, substitution and change of parameters for texture sampling can be performed. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
