<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel electrode in which deterioration of electrode property hardly occurs even when lack of fuel generates in a fuel electrode of solid polymer electrolyte fuel cell. <P>SOLUTION: In the fuel cell of the solid polymer electrolyte fuel cell accelerating the reaction of the fuel cell oxidizing fuel introduced through diffused layers, at least one layer of a reaction layer accelerating the reaction of the fuel cell, and at least one layer of water decomposition layer which is in contact with the diffused layers and in which electrolysis of water is carried out within the fuel electrode, are provided. The protection of the layer carrying out the fuel cell reaction is protected by forming the fuel electrode in such a multiple layered structure, and providing a layer to carry out the eletrolysis of water contained in the fuel with priority. Thus, as the result, the electrode property is hardly deteriorated even when the lack of fuel occurs in the fuel electrode. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
