SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR CONTROLLING PUMP OF LIGHT AMPLIFIER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system and a method capable of resuming a path average intensity while minimizing influence on a signal-to-noise power ratio by detecting variation in the path average intensity and by adjusting pump parameters of light amplifiers.

SOLUTION: These system and method are for controlling pump sources of the light amplifiers. A path average intensity detector is provided in order to detect the path average intensity as to a transmitted optical signal. A pump parameter controller adjusts at least one pump parameter of at least one amplifier in order to achieve desired path average intensity in response to the detected path average intensity and the variation in the path average intensity.
