<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an easily formable and highly fine pattern at a low cost. <P>SOLUTION: This method of manufacturing a color filter comprises processes of forming: (1) an optical shielding part on a transparent base, (2) a wettability varying layer wherein the wettabilty varies by the action of an optical catalyst on the surface of the transparent base on which the shielding part is formed, (3) a pixel part forming part consisting of a lyophilic region having a contact angle with liquid reduced compared to that before radiation of energy to the wettability varying layer by radiating energy from a given direction, after an optical catalyst-containing layer of the optical catalyst-containing layer side substrate formed on the base and the wettability varying layer are disposed with spaces of 200 μm or less therebetween, and (4) a pixel part by coloring the pixel forming part with an ink jet system. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
