<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical element cooling unit which can make the cooling efficiency of an optical element satisfactory, and to provide an optical apparatus and a projector. <P>SOLUTION: The optical element cooling unit 443 seals a cooling fluid in itself. An emission-side polarization plate is cooled by the contact of the cooling fluid and the polarization plate. The cooling unit 443 comprises an optical element holder 447 in which a cooling fluid is sealed and which holds the emission-side polarization plate, and pipes 448, as fluid circulating members, which convect the cooling fluid sealed in the holder 447. The pipes 448 are arranged on both left and right sides of the holder 447 in such a manner that the pipes 447 extend along the left and right ends of the holder 447 and parallel to each other. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
