<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an input device realizing quick and various operations by reducing a power transmission loss from an operating finger of an operator to a rotating operation member as much as possible despite a shape of a casing of the device. <P>SOLUTION: A third input mechanism of the input device 10 is provided with the wheel-shaped rotating operation member 22 adjacent to a grip 12 and partially exposed from the casing 16. The operation member 22 has an outer surface area which is not uniform as a whole and moves with the rotation of the operation member 22 while being partially exposed from the casing 16. The outer surface area includes a U-shaped first side face 26 extended in a direction intersecting a rotation axis 22a. The first side face 26 functions as a contact operation face directly contacting a desired operating finger of the operator. The operator slightly moves the operating finger to bring the operating finger into contact with the first side face 26 of the operation member 22 while keeping the operating finger in contact with a pressuring member 24, and rotationaly moves the operation member 22 in such a state. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO</p> |
