PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a dielectric filter of a low spurious characteristic by suppressing the excitation of spurious, such as TM mode or the like, generated in a dielectric block in the dielectric filter, which is constituted in the dielectric block, utilizing TEM mode. SOLUTION: An excitation hole 3b is formed in a dielectric block 1.An input/output terminal 5b, which is connected to the internal conductor inside the excitation hole 3b on one side of end parts of the excitation hole 3b, is formed on the outer surface of the dielectric block 1. A ground electrode non-forming section 11 is provided on the opposite surface side facing an input/output electrode 8b of a mounting board 6 with which the input/output terminal 5b makes contact. Thus, electric field strength from the excitation hole 3b to an external conductor 4 of the dielectric block 1 is made uniform in the upper/lower parts. The excitation of spurious mode, such as TM mode or the like, is suppressed. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
