PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical element having low refractive index wavelength dispersibility, high degree of freedom of a molded form like synthetic resin and moldability suitable for mass production. SOLUTION: The optical element is formed by molding a composition containing a first material to be a particulate having the Abbe's numberνd of≥80 showing wavelength dispersibility in a visible region and <400 nm size and a second material to be an organic and inorganic composite consisting of an organic polymer material having a carbon-carbon bond at its main chain and an inorganic component.
