PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical fiber cable and an optical fiber cable with a ferrule both having excellent solvent resistance and corrosion resistance, reduced pistoning and excellent optical characteristics. SOLUTION: In the optical fiber cable constituted by forming N or more (N≥2) covering layers on the outer circumferential part of an optical fiber, the first to (N-1)th covering layers from the inside are constituted of thermoplastic resin, and the Nth covering layer from the inside is constituted of: a polymer incorporating ethylene units and tetrafluoroethylene units; or a polymer incorporating the tetrafluoroethylene units and a perfluoroalkoxyethylene unit. The optical fiber with the ferrule where the ferrule is connected to at least one end part of the above optical fiber cable is also presented. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
