PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that a hole for extinguishing a lighted cigarette is stuck with ash soon in a conventional ashtray with a function of extinguishing a lighted cigarette. SOLUTION: This ashtray with a function of extinguishing a lighted cigarette includes an ashtray case, a barrel for inserting a cigarette placed on the internal surface of the barrel, and means for moving the barrel relatively to an ash removing body. The relatively moving means has elastic means for controlling the ash removing body to come to a cigarette insertion hole of the barrel or elastic means for controlling the cigarette insertion hole of the barrel and an opening on the other side to come to the ash removing body. The ashtray case has an opening/closing lid and the barrel is moved relatively to the ash removing body against the elastic means when the lid is closed. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
