PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate ununiformity in impact positions of ink drops on a recording medium by controlling an ejection timing of a moving head according to a relative position of a wave made by a waving platen by using the waving platen in order to generate cocklings provided at predetermined intervals. SOLUTION: When the recording is performed by ejecting ink on a recording paper which is waved by ribs provided on the platen, the ink is ejected by reducing the interval of the ejection timing rather than that in a condition without waving in a zone 6 of the recording head moving from the top to the bottom. When the head is moving in a zone 7 from the bottom to the top, the interval of the ejection timing is increased. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
