PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the functionality of a vertically movable storage device while simplifying its arrangement. SOLUTION: The vertically movable storage device is provided with a door D which can swing to open or close a front opening M1 formed in a rack storage case C storing vertically movable racks S. A vertical movement guide mechanism 1 for raising and lowering the racks S between a stored position and a service position and a link mechanism 10 for raising or lowering the racks S as the door D swings for opening or closing are provided between the rack storage case C and the racks S. The link mechanism 10 is provided with a door opened/closed position maintaining means which applies the load of the rack S as energizing force in the direction to open the opening when the door D is in its position where it holds the opening open, and in the direction to close the opening when the door is in its opening-closing position.
