PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a replacement timing indicator for toilet paper or a hand towel in a dispenser capable of allowing the administrator to instantly and externally confirm its remaining amount irrespective of the installed position of the dispenser, the shape of its content display window or the like. SOLUTION: The replacement timing indicator for toilet paper or a hand towel, which is installed inside a toilet paper or hand towel dispenser X having a content confirming window Xa, comprises a light emitter 1 provided at a position facing the content confirming window Xa across the toilet paper or hand towel such that irradiated light reaches the content confirming window Xa when the remaining amount of the toilet paper or hand towel reaches a predetermined one, a battery unit 2 for supplying electric power to the light emitter 1, and a mounting unit for mounting the light emitter 1 and the battery unit 2 in the dispenser X.
