<p>An alarm (11) for a reservoir of liquid. The alarm (11) comprises sensing means in the form of a sensor array (15) for sensing a body moving within a selected distance from the sensor array (15) in a detection area formed by the reservoir and the area in the vicinity of the reservoir of liquid. The sensor array (15) is arranged to be supported in the reservoir above the surface of the liquid in the reservoir by supporting means which may be provided in the form of a buoyant body such as a buoy (13). Additionally, the alarm (11) comprises alerting means in the form of a siren (17) for generating a high decibel alert sound, an alarm control (19) for controlling the operation of the alarm (11), a portable remote alarm control (not shown) for remotely controlling the operation of the alarm (11), and stabilising means in the form of an anchor (21) attached to the buoy (13) at a location opposed to the sensor array (15) to maintain the sensor array (15) in a position for sensing. When the sensor array (15) senses a body moving in the detection area the siren (17) generates the high decibel alert sound.</p> |
