PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stable polarization function for a polarizing filter, and to accurately and surely inspect a prescribed item for an inspected object. SOLUTION: When inspection light B projected from a light source 22 of this inspection light irradiating device 20 is emitted to a field crop A, air D supplied from an air supply source 29 is delivered into a storage part 21b of a device main body 21, the air D in storage parts 21a, 21b is evacuated continuously by an evacuation fan 23, and the air D of a temperature lower than a temperature at which the polarizing filter 26 is fused is blown to and brought into contact with the whole of the polarizing filter 26 to be cooled. A temperature in the vicinity of the filter 26 is cooled to and maintained at a temperature lower than the temperature at which the polarizing filter 26 is fused, so as to keep constant a polarization degree and a polarization function of the polarizing filter 26.
