PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a font service system which creates a printed matter using a font which a user desires, by providing the font when the font for use in a result is not stored in a working computer.

SOLUTION: Character data for font comparison indicating a shape of a character designated from a document and a character code corresponding to the character are related to each other to generate character data for collation, and the character corresponding to the character code included in the character data for collation is acquired as font set character data from a plurality of font sets respectively. The shape of the character indicated by the character data for font comparison included in the character data for collation is compared with shapes of the character indicated by font set character data respectively. When finding font set character data which is congruent with the shape of the character indicated by the character data for font comparison, a server transmits a font set from which this font set character data is acquired, to a terminal.
