<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a manufacturing cost of a reflector and the like for the arrangement of a substantially triangle-sectioned reflector behind and between fluorescent lamps. <P>SOLUTION: A backlight device comprises a lamp chamber 18, a plurality of linear tube type fluorescent lamps 20 arranged parallel in the lamp chamber, a reflecting plate 19 arranged on the back surface of the lamp chamber, and a plurality of substantially triangle-sectioned resin reflectors 22 each arranged between fluorescent lamps on the reflecting plate.
