<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink composition giving high-speed recording, a high image density and a high-grade image while good ejecting stability is possessed by controlling the viscosity for an elongational deformation rate (shear rate) within a specific range and to provide a method for inkjet recording. <P>SOLUTION: The ink composition comprises at least a pigment, water and an aqueous resin. The ink composition has a viscosity satisfying A/B≤2.0 and C/B≤1.2 when the viscosity at 1×10<SP>4</SP>s<SP>-1</SP>shear rate is A; the viscosity at 1×10<SP>3</SP>s<SP>-1</SP>shear rate is B and the viscosity at 1×10<SP>1</SP>s<SP>-1</SP>is C by measuring the elongational viscosity at 25°C using an orifice. Furthermore, the viscosity C at 1×10<SP>1</SP>s<SP>-1</SP>and 25°C is ≥5.0 mPas. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
