<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To operate a bed in such a way that the reach of the user changes as little as possible regardless of whether the user sits up in bed or not. <P>SOLUTION: A floor support 1 comprises an upper part of the body side support 10 for supporting one side of bedding M on which the user of the bed positions his upper part, with the upper part support 10 being assembled in such a way that it can rotate and stand up to the other side. The floor support 1 is provided with a main spindle 13 driven for rotation and a support arm 14 of the upper part support 10 which is assembled to the main spindle 13 in such a manner as to stand up as the main spindle 13 rotates in forward direction. As the support arm 14 stands up, the upper part support 10 also stands up.
