<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To protect a tab protruding in a connector housing from external interference, etc. until it engages with a counterpart. <P>SOLUTION: A male connector housing 18 houses a retainer 23 provided with a close plate 23a having a tab through hole 23f, a peripheral wall 23b surrounding the close plate 23a, and a swinging lock part 23d protruding from the peripheral wall 23e. The lock part 23d abuts a locked part 18e protruding from the inside surface of a peripheral wall 18c of the male connector housing 18 and stops. When a female connector housing 32 engages with the male connector housing 18, a lower end 32a of the female connector housing 32 pressurize the lock part 23d of the retainer 23. Thus the lock part 23d is swung to release lock, while the retainer 23 is forcedly shifted from a temporary locking position to a practical locking position, making a tab 13a protrude from the tab through hole 23f to engage with a terminal 34 in the female connector housing 32. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO</p> |
