PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for controlling a panel whereby an optimum key control can be carried out in conformity with operation circumstances of keys on the control panel of a printer. SOLUTION: A means for acquiring a history of key operations on the control panel is set, whereby operation circumstances of keys by users can be detected and a key control method can be changed in conformity with the key operation circumstances.
