A source of illumination for the interior of an instrument is disposed in a tubular socket 4 which extends through the wall 1 of the instrument and is sealed thereto by means of a resilient ring 2 engaging the inner surface of the wall, the socket being surrounded and engaged by a tubular member 3 which carries a cap 5 and is retained in sealing contact with the ring. The cap is coloured and is surrounded by a tubular open-ended shield 6, and the member 3 is urged into contact with the ring by deforming the end of the socket. In a modification the member 3 is omitted and the cap is retained in sealing contact with the ring. |
