<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printing ink using no alkylphenol-formaldehyde condensates as a raw material and having characteristics comparable with those of rosin-modified phenol resins, including a high softening point, high viscosity and high solubility, and printing fitness comparable with or higher than that of printing inks using the phenol resin, including emulsifying characteristics, glossiness, drying property and misting. <P>SOLUTION: The polyester resin is manufactured by reacting (a) a rosin, (b) an aromatic polybasic acid, (c) one or more selected from resins prepared by reacting (1) a polymer composed of a fatty acid, an aliphatic polybasic acid, an aliphatic monoalcohol, an aliphatic dialcohol, an aliphatic monoamine, an aliphatic monoepoxy, a carboxylic acid and a hydrophobic polymerizable unsaturated compound partially with (2) a hydrophobic compound having reactivity with the carboxylic acid in the polymer, and (d) a polyol. A method of manufacturing the polyester resin, a binder for printing inks containing the polyester resin and a printing ink containing the binder are also provided. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO</p> |
