<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a connector for a flexible wiring board (FPC) providing a good workability for the connector, avoiding unplugging of the FPC when connected, capable of inserting the FPC in a correct position, and ensuring holding and fitting of the FPC. <P>SOLUTION: The connector 10 for a flexible wiring board 10 has a contact 1, a housing 2 for holding and fitting the contact 1, and an actuator 3 for pressing the FPC 50 or an object to connect it to the contact 1. The connector for a flexible wiring board 10 further comprises a first member 4 to be fixed to the housing 2. The housing 2 has an insert port 7 with an opening formed to which the FPC 50 is inserted. The first member 4 has a projecting piece 4a projecting toward the opening of the insert port 7.
