PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sliding device capable of decreasing the number of working processes and parts in manufacture, facilitated in manufacture and capable of preventing a sliding body from slipping off a shaft at a low cost even if being a small sliding device, and superior in practicalness. SOLUTION: This sliding device is composed of a shaft and a slider provided on the shaft. The slider is provided with a sleeve at the base, and a rolling element held in a rolling element retainer is provided between the shaft and the slider. The rolling element retainer is slidable to the slider and the shaft. Both end parts in the sliding direction of the rolling element retainer and its vicinity are provided with locking parts locked on locking parts of the shaft or the slider. The rolling element retainer is provided with a window, and both inner edges in the sliding direction of the window and the locking projected part provided on the slider or the shaft are locked with each other.
