PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide high-purity and uniform N-acetylheparosan having small molecular weight distribution, and to provide a N-acetylheparosan fraction containing the N-acetylheparosan at a high purity. SOLUTION: The N-acetylheparosan has 35,000-45,000 weight-average molecular weight measured by gel filtration chromatography and 1.1-1.9 molecular weight distribution. The high-purity and uniform N-acetylheparosan fraction comprises the N-acetylheparosan,≤0.1 wt.% nucleic acid and≤0.03μM/mg free amine. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
