摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical resin composition that is excellent in non-birefringence, heat resistance and mold transfer, and an optical element using the composition. SOLUTION: A methacrylate or an acrylate having a 5-22C alicyclic hydrocarbon group in the ester portion of 5-40 pts.wt., methyl methacrylate of 50-80 pts.wt., N-substituted maleimide of 5-40 pts.wt., benzyl methacrylate of 0-30 pts.wt. and an acrylate having a 1-5C hydrocarbon group in the ester portion or an aromatic vinyl compound of 1-10 pts.wt. are copolymerized with the total weight part of 100. The compositional ratio is so determined that the obtained resin has an oriented birefringence in the absolute value of <1×10<SP>-6</SP>and a melt flow rate of≥15 g/10min and a bending fracture strength of≥50 MPa.
