<p>Tyre building machine which automatically simultaneously dispenses at least two plies of belting reinforced with magnetically susceptible metallic reinforcing cables onto pulley systems which allow the fabric to be built up on a basic tyre carcass with intermediate applications of rubber adhesive solutions as necessary. This apparatus is esp. for construction of radial tyres incorporating metallic reinforcing cords in the main sidewall and under-tread plies, since magnetic clamping to the build-up pulleys is assumed. Fully automated tyre build-up process offering a saving in manpower and space greater than that offered by prior art manual or automated (two-stage) processes. The widths, diameters or other principal dimensions of the transfer and consolidation equipment are adjustable or interchangeable to permit production of a variety of tyre shapes and sizes on the same equipment.</p> |
