PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic watermark embedding device capable of increasing an imbed available information quantity using a magnitude relation of two or more blank length such as between characters, between words, or between lines or the like, an electronic watermark extraction device and method therefor, a computer program, and recording medium. SOLUTION: An image input section 101 inputs document image obtained by digitizing a document. A character extract section 102 extracts a character image included in the document image. A watermark information input part 103 inputs a watermark information. An information storage section 104 stores a magnitude relation of the prescribed number of blank length corresponding to the watermark information. A setting part 105 sets the magnitude relation of blank length corresponding to the inputted watermark information.
