PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device which can obtain a wide range of output voltages from a data driver and can realize a display having sufficient luminance even if a liquid crystal material of a high voltage operating mode is used. SOLUTION: The reference voltage for the data driver 32 is fluctuated by each of frames in a reference voltage generating circuit 34 for the data driver. The reference voltage is fluctuated alternately to a(V) when the frame is an odd number and to (16-a)(V) when the frame is an even number with respect to the data driver 32 whose maximum voltage is 16(V).
