PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a useful fluorinated monomer having a short-chain structure and containing SO<SB>2</SB>F group in high production efficiency. SOLUTION: The method for the production of the fluorinated monomer expressed by CF<SB>2</SB>=CFO(CF<SB>2</SB>)<SB>n</SB>SO<SB>2</SB>F (2) comprises the treatment of a sulfonamide compound expressed by CF<SB>2</SB>=CFO(CF<SB>2</SB>)<SB>n</SB>SO<SB>2</SB>NR<SP>1</SP>-CR<SP>2</SP>=NR<SP>3</SP>(1) with hydrofluoric acid. In the formulas, (n) is an integer of 1-5; R<SP>1</SP>, R<SP>2</SP>and R<SP>3</SP>are each independently H, a substituted or unsubstituted hydrocarbon group or NH<SB>r</SB>R<SB>s</SB>((r) and (s) are each an integer of 0-2 provided that r+s is 0-2; and R is a substituted or unsubstituted hydrocarbon group); R<SP>1</SP>and R<SP>3</SP>may be bonded together to form a ring; and the value of (n) (in formula (2) is equal to that of formula (1)).
