PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simple method for producing high-purity chlorosulfonyl isocyanate in high yield. SOLUTION: In the method for producing the chlorosulfonyl isocyanate by reacting sulfur trioxide and cyanogen chloride, liquid sulfur trioxide and liquid cyanogen chloride are continuously supplied to a reaction system kept at 50-110°C at a ratio of 0.9 to 1.1 mols of the cyanogen chloride to 1 mol of the sulfur trioxide and the chlorosulfonyl isocyanate is caused to present in the reaction system at a concentration of 50% or higher. In a continuous production system, liquid sulfur trioxide and liquid cyanogen chloride are continuously supplied to the reaction system so as to be left behind in the system for 30 minutes or more, while the reaction mixture is continuously drawn out of the system.
