IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus which can surely detect photoreceptor markers 15(1) and 15(2) formed on a photoreceptor 1 even if the photoreceptor 1 is contaminated by toners and is flawed.

SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus has a plurality of developing devices 5(1) to 5(4) which house 2 or more colors of toners, the photoreceptor 1 which carries and supports the toners of the respective colors discretely supplied from the plurality of developing devices 5(1) to 5(4) and an intermediate transfer member which comes into contact with part of the photoreceptor 1 and superposes the toners carried and supported on the photoreceptor 1. A plurality of intermediate transfer member markers 16 are formed at specified intervals on the medium 2 and the plurality of photoreceptor markers 15(1) and 15(2) are formed on the photoreceptor 1 in portions exclusive of the toner image forming region.
