<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a protective structure suitable for an organic EL element or the like that has resistance to a high temperature and a high humidity, and a high mechanical strength. <P>SOLUTION: An organic EL element has organic compound layers 30 between first electrodes 12 and second electrodes 18 to form an element region. The element region is covered with a protective film 20, and on the protective film 20, a polymer film 26, such as aromatic nylon, with an amide bond in molecules and an aromatic ring in main chains is bonded with an adhesive resin 24. The polymer film 26 poses no adverse effects to the environment, and has a high mechanical strength and a very high resistance to high temperature and high humidity. Accordingly, the fixed bonding of the polymer film 26 on the protective film 20 can drastically increase high temperature and high humidity resistance of the organic EL element. The structure is thus appreciable as a protective structure for, for example, an on-vehicle organic EL element. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
