<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To deliver the estimated number of labels to a plurality of label issuing devices without operation by an operator. <P>SOLUTION: The label issuing system includes one controller for storing the estimated number of labels to be delivered to a plurality of labelers and the plurality of labelers for issuing the labels. Each labeler stores a request number which is the number to request the delivery to itself. When the labels are to be issued, a request signal including the request number is transmitted from the labeler to the controller (step ST 201). The controller, in response, determines the number of labels to be handled by the labeler which transmitted the request signal based on the request number and replies the number to be handled (step ST 102). Each time the controller receives the request signals respectively from the plurality of labelers, it carries out similar processing.
