PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a clutch device improved so that the transmission torque capacity can be increased without enlarging the device. SOLUTION: In the clutch device (4), a planet gear (13) meshing with an internal gear ring gear (22) provided to an outer member (12) to roll is freely rotatable in a recess (23) provided in an inner member (11). When a part of the planet gear tooth is engaged with the edge (24) formed in the recess, the outer and inner members are integrally rotated. When the engagement of a part of the planet gear tooth with the edge is disengaged, the outer and inner members are relatively rotated. A part of the planet gear tooth is substantially simultaneously engaged with the edge with respect to all pairs of the recesses and planet gears. By so doing, the transmission torque is distributed to a plurality of planet gears, thereby the load per one planet gear can be reduced. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
