PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic bearing-generator motor wherein when a generator motor provided with a magnetic bearing function is operated as a generator or a motor from an energy source accumulating a constant energy or using the energy, required output is obtained even if the accumulated energy is reduced. SOLUTION: The magnetic bearing-generator motor is so constituted that the stator of a generator motor 11 is provided with two sets of windings 14 and 15, different in number of poles by 2n (n is an integer), and a current is carried by the two sets of the windings, thereby levitates a rotor 13 from a stator 12 and supported above the stator. The magnetic bearing-generator motor is provided with a means 17 which switches the first winding connected to a load or a power supply and the second winding connected to a control power supply.
