PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disk drive in which the weight of a swing type actuator can be reduced, highly accurate positioning can be performed by almost equalizing the response of magnetic heads for applying a current to a coil, and high speed access can be performed. SOLUTION: The carriage 25 of a disk drive 20 has a plurality of arms 6, two suspensions are attached to all arms 6, and each suspension supports a slider 3 having a head. The slider 3 is positioned at an arbitrary position of a radius direction on a disk 2 by applying a current to a coil 8 constituted in the inside of a voice coil motor 10. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
