PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control method of data input device capable of efficiently developing a control program for a plurality of kinds of data input devices. SOLUTION: In this method control method of data input device, a computer is made to execute a control program having control modules 23, 24, 25, 26, 27 and 28 constituted to be capable of controlling plural kinds of data input devices by changing the set and/or processing data transmitted from the data input devices according to the set, and a device information file for storing control data for changing the set of control modules in association with a specified kind of data input device. The set of control modules is changed based on the device information files 30 and 31, whereby the control modules are made to control the data input device associated with the device information files and/or process the data transmitted from the data input device.
