PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electret filter medium and a manufacturing method therefore, in more detail, the electret filter medium capable of being subjected to embedding treatment in soil after used and excellent in pleat processability, and a manufacturing method therefor. SOLUTION: The electret filter medium comprises an electret nonwoven fabric comprising fibers based on an aliphatic polyester and a reinforcing sheet constituted of fibers having biodegradability and is characterized in that the nonwoven fabric and the reinforcing sheet are partially fused. The electret filter medium is manufactured by superposing the nonwoven fabric and the reinforcing sheet one upon another and partially fusing them by thermal embossing or ultrasonic embossing.
