PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a garbage treatment apparatus which ensures degradation performance and saves energy. SOLUTION: The garbage treatment apparatus comprises a microbial degradation section 21 in which dried garbage is degraded by microorganisms, an air drying section 31 which communicates with the degradation section 21 and in which garbage 26 is dried by blowing air, an air conduit 40 disposed in a part of the drying section 31, an air blowing means 43 which communicates with the air conduit 40, and air jet exits 44 arranged near the bottom surface 36 of the drying section 31 and opening to the air conduit 40. Even when massive garbage 26 or watery garbage 26 is charged, it can be predried by blowing air in the drying section 31 and performance to degrade dried garbage 26A in the degradation section 21 can be sustained. Since garbage 26 is dried by the air blowing means 43 without using a heating means which consumes large energy, energy saving is attained. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
