摘要 The present invention provides a new transmission method for both voice and data packets as an enhancement of IEEE 802.11 protocol of wireless LAN network, which includes access point station (AP) and wireless stations. This method utilizes the transmission of standard beacon packets for embodying allocation information. The allocation information and transmission cycle are determined according to various criteria, among them packet's type and the traffic congestion. The transmitted allocation information includes scheduling information of reserved transmission periods for voice or data packets of both wireless and AP stations. For each wireless station voice session at least two time slots are reserved within each transmission cycle: one for uplink transmission of voice packets from the wireless station to the AP station and a second one for downlink transmission of voice packets from the AP station to the wireless station.
